Sleep on a Stand

Elephants, one of the very massive animals are observed to sleep standing most of the time. This character is justified by the statement that they find it difficult to run in emergencies if they lie down. But they do lie down a couple of hours before dawn in their usual night sleep. During day only sick elephants tend to lie down.
